Default QTP cut outs are junk!

Just in case anybody is thinking about spending money on Quick Time Performance electrict cut outs SAVE YOUR MONEY! mine lasted about 3 months ( long enough for the 90 day warranty to expire). they leak, fall apart & won't open. i have talked to 2 quality exhaust shops in the D/FW area who won't even sell them any more. i called them & they said i can send the broken ones back & they will repair them for a fee. but there is no warranty on the repair work! i got better things to spend $400 dollars on.

It's a mechanical part. Parts fail from time to time. Based on all the QTEC owners out there I think it's fair to say what happened to you is the exception and not the norm.

I had the motor on mine take a dump after 4 months. I came to the conclusion that electronics exposed to water just wasn't meant to be.

Yeah I didn't really like the setup for QTP. I just ordered a McCord Power Plate yesterday. their warranty is 4X longer than QTP. Seems to me to have better quality and a smaller company so its easier to deal with

just my 2 cents

Hell yeah. Half price, more warranty, and doesn't fall apart.

I've had 3 sets over the past 5 years on 3 cars.

Love em.

Well I try to not stick my nose where It don't belong..... I don't have an electric cut out yet... But it seems to me that due to heat and vibration one would want to go over everything and use loctite to insure that everything would stay in place..... Please correct me if I am wrong...

I had the dual elect. cutout Y from QTP. In the 2 months I used them before I sold the car, I replaced both motors. Both broke apart due to impact when the car bottomed out. Not the fault of the assembly, more the fault of lack of clearance. The QTP Y-pipe flowed awesome. I'd use their ORY without the Qtec's again anyday, and I'd stick one qtec in the I-pipe where it would have better clearance.
QTP did overnite me new motors both times. I had to pay $30 for a new motor and they covered shipping.
