Default Anyone Got Ideas On Whether This Will Void My Warranty?

well so far i have got the mods in my sig done and am planning on getting the Yella 1.8 rockers, 180* tstat, 2 heat ranges colder spark plugs (XP5243 Iridium Autolite Plugs), DP, porting the TB and intake manifold, and a stealth tune from vector. does anyone know if these mods and/or the mods i have already done would give GM a reason not to replace my tranny, which i know will go out sooner or later, under warranty or anything else? any and all input is appreciated!

Don't ask, don't tell! They would really have no idea you changed rocker arms or ported the intake manifold and such.

If they get a Valve cover leak replace it yourself.

Yes, it would give them a solid reason to deny warranty work on your transmission.

I would think those rockers will change the sound of the motor and that would sure be a tell tale sign to them. If it still sounds stock you may get away with it, if not they will probably go looking into why it sounds the way it does. They can void your warranty on any mods without a CARB cert number or adds more stress on your drivetrain. Also anything that effects the emissions system. Sometimes if you wanna play, you gotta pay.

Those rockers are not going to change the idle of the car hardly at all. He isn't putting in a cam. It will not sound lopey with just rockers.

If you have a leak you'll see it around the cover and it may fall onto the exhaust manifold. If it ever gets like that you'll smell the burning of the oil. I have 66K on my car and no leaks.

In the event of you needing warranty work done, I'd at least take the downpipe off. That way they don't see the downpipe and wonder what other mods have been done.

I agree! That's the reason I ended up selling my DP. Got tired of climbing under the car to swap it out every time I went to the dealer. I also had a exhaust manifold stud and nut gall up on me took almost four hours to fix it. Its hard to remove the pipe if the nuts don't come off! And that was with a good soaking of PB-Blaster!

Just save the down-pipe for the last mod.

actualy, the only thing that would void the warrante on the tranny, would be tranny mods. if you put a custom exhaust on your car, and then the enigne fails, they will still warante the engine.... same as tranny

In response to the ZZP Rockers, I ordered a set, and once I got them I really looked them over and the drilling's were not always in the exact same place as some of the others. They were close but when we are talking about internal parts, .001 is a lot and the naked eye can't see that. So if I could notice differences between the some of the new parts with just my eye, there was no way I was putting them on my car. I returned the kit (at a hefty "re-stocking fee") and don't regret it. Also if one of those modified stock zzp rockers ever failed, you could kiss your warranty goodbye as GM would almost certainly find out.

it doesnt matter if a new rocker fialed, th eonly thing that the warrante wouldnt cover is the original rockers..... everything else would be covered.

That's why Yella-Terra's are your best bet. Harland's have had many problems with the V-6 applications and some of the V-8 applications. On the V-6's the roller would back out and start to wear the rocker itself. The V-8 issue I heard of was the grinding had to be done to the ones near the corner of the valve cover. Yella's never had this problem and I have never heard of one failing.

Who cares if they are made in Austrailia. Hayden Oil and Transmission coolers are and those are the most popular ones. Weren't 04 - 06 GTO's made there too? Personally, I think that's a non-issue. At least it isn't Chinese...lol...
