Default Had my 2006 Impala SS tune Yesterday

Since I had good luck with my Vette I figured I would take in my LS4 Impala SS down to CMS. Car shift great now and way more torquey. This car has some mufflers and a drop in K&N so no major mods. Ryne stayed till 8pm after a long day making my daily driver fun!
You can see this car has some pretty good low end tq for a FWD
Mustangs need to be on the lookout now!

Wow, that's awesome. What did they use to tune it? And how much did this cost?

Good deal. Did you keep DOD/AFM or turn it off?

I'm scared to get into tuning. I'd rather let a professional with experience take care of it. Anyone around Northwest Indiana? lol

Cms can handle a LS4 no problem. The tuning isn't any different then any other LSx based motor. They also can handle the Internal Parts. These Impalas and Gran Prix use C6 Corvette heads so it's not a problem.

It's not a bad drive from Fontana maybe 40min down the 15 freeway.

So far it is still on. I kinda like still having the 4cyl mode to save some gas. These cars seem to tuned overaly lean from the factory. We were seeing 15.5 Afr on the stock tune. Which creates knock so you loose some performance.

Yeah, I would definitely want to keep DOD turned on. It helps.

hahaha... depends on your driving scenario...

I drive 50/50 city/highway... and around town on weekends and I got MORE mileage when I disabled it...

went from 18.6 mph up to 20.5 mpg...

WOW! That's insane. Right now I only get around 15.8 MPG's unless I do a significant amount of highway driving.

This really looks like a great mod to do. Again, nice numbers rzuff!

Before the tune I was getting 20.3 city/hwy combined. It will be interesting to see where it is now.

Do the tune it will be the single best gain you can do without nitous or a supercharger. They port everything the owner drives a C6Z06.

I really don't think you have to worry about warranty with the tune. It can be flashed back and the Impala aren't really what they looking for mod'd

Impressive numbers for a nearly stock impala! I live in Houston, TX and I'm having trouble finding someone realiable. I hope to get numbers as good as yours when my time comes.

You guys are getting great mileage. I'm stuck around 13.6 - I do mostly city driving and have a heavy foot but geezzzzz...

Maybe I should drop off my car to my mom for a weekend and see what she gets, lol.

How are you getting so bad of mileage. I've never seen less than 17mpg and that was some pretty hard driving. My mostly backroads driving including lots of curves & hills(not many straight roads in Oregon) I get 20-21mpg. My hwy is 26-28 and 30+ if I keep the speed down.
