Default HID HELP for GP

Hey all,

I have been having baaaaad luck with HID's. I have HID's on the Fogs. Been running those for months.

Well, tonight I put HID's on the head lights. Now the fogs wont light up? Any reason??

Also, I know this is the LS4 section but this is for my 98 GT GP. I know you guys actually care and want to help people so thats why I'm posting it here....

Thanks,

Greg

PS: I got no love over on the Club GP side for this issue either...

Are you using a relay harness? What wattage are your kits?

check fuses and get back to us...

also, what is the brand and wattage your running?

be sure you put the balast connector in right with the bulb...ie pos and neg in the right spot...

if it is...try switching it..yeah, its backwards I know..but, just try it...some kits have reversed pos and neg feeds and the CN cars wont regonize the input...so try switching those up...i believe the fogs are routed into the parking lamps which are routed into the engaging relay for the head lamp relay...

They are DDM kits, and 35W.

Ive been running the FOGs for a while, with stock bulbs in the headlights. Then i got the DDM kit and threw that in the headlights and shazam no fog lights while head lights on. Actually no fogs all together. Im not running a relay either i just plugs them bitches in...

Also, i did make sure it was hooked up with the positive and negs... Thanks for the help Rossko, Ill check the fuses and report back...

Thanks again fella's...

This may show my ignorance more than help you, but I installed the DDM 9006's in my lows, and was having troubles getting my fogs to light. Or so I thought; I just had a brain fart for a couple days, when I realized you have to be in gear for the fogs to light. I was always testing with the car running, the headlights on, but the car in park. Maybe for you this is a non-issue, but it was something I had to afterward for...

My fogs stay on when in park. It's the DRLs that go off when in park.

Aight well something is up.

It keeps popping fuses. I turned the headlights and fogs on at the same time. Fuse blew.

Then, replaced fuse and turned on just fogs, they started powering up an then boom, another blown fuse.

Should i up the ante, with a higher amp fuse like a 15 or 20?

Thanks fellas,

Greg

Id stay with the stock fuse. If they include it in the pack thats gotta work for most vehicles. Id check your wires make sure there isnt a cut in a wire grounding somewhere. Raising the fuse amperage could burn up your wires and/or car!

I tossed in a 15amp fuse and that blew, so i put in a 20amp fuse and that one is working just fine. I think its time to upgrade to a HD harness on the fogs and I'm going to check all connections.
