Default transmission question

I have a 2007 Monte SS and have been noticing at around 60 mph i get a small rev before what i think is the final shift or overdrive. i made a couple of cell phone vids today. they arent the best but i figured it was better than nothing.

i just took my car to the dealer on tuesday and they said the tranny checked out fine but i dont think it is. They told me it wasnt throwing a code so keep driving it.

So do you guys think there is something wrong?

watch around 60mph...sorry for the sideways vid...the editor is being a big PITA

If it's doing it when it gets hot, put a cooler on it. When the converter locks up it should give a little blip as it does so. Mine has always done it. Sometimes it will do it as it shifts into OD when it's right on the line, i.e. cruising right around 54 or so.

Put a cooler on anyway before it's too late.

Yeah my Monte does the same exact thing without DOD. Always gives a little blip somewhere betwen 50-60mph depending on acceleration. Figured it was just the converter locking up so I never looked into it. I don't think you have anything to worry about. But do what AlabamaGuy says and install a cooler!!

i planned on putting a cooler on it sometime. i still have powertrain warranty so if it is something GM would make go away that would be great. I was just wondering if it could be something that i could point out to the dealer and have fixed before my warranty is up.

Mine has a cooler AND it still has that slight "blip" on the 3-4 shift.

The tranny didn't start doing this until a couple of months ago, when it had about 12,000 miles on it. If it was the TCC unlocking for the 3-4 shift, then it probably would have done it from the start. I'm more apt to think that it's a slight flare. Thankfully, mine hasn't gotten any worse since I noticed it.
