Dash Needs to be Color Matched
I have a 2006 Grand Prix GXP and when i bought the car it had a crack on the upper panel that covers up the heads up display "HUD" well i bought a replacement piece but it's not the right color now and i guess you can't get it in black and it's now a gray color and I'm wondering what do you use to paint it the right color. I took it to the dealership and he said you can't dye it like vinyl or else it will scratch and he talked about some plastic prep kit or something. I figured i'd ask on here see what I can do.

The PPG dealer by me sells an aerosol kit, that can be color matched to the outside of the car. I'm thinking about painting my faux carbon fiber pieces black to match the exterior.

Well I just need the upper panel to match the color of my dash which is just black dont know if it's a special black or not car is white with the black and tan interior. Where do you get a kit like that?

The guy at the dealer doesn't know much then. I work for a automotive interior supplier that makes things like door panels, dashes, quarter panels...... We do the door panels for the Cruze they get a coating. Almost all these parts get painted. And why would that get scratched i mean do you place things on your dash. There is no special proses other than they get baked after words.

Go to yourautotrim.com. Order the sample chart from SEM. Then once you get that you can match up to see what color your interior is.
