Lately the engine has been having an intermittent surging issue.

Coasting around 40 MPH, foot off accelerator, gear selector in normal drive position (D). Revs will suddenly drop to about 800, then surge to 1800 or so. This will repeat several times, then stop and all is well. No check engine light or any other issue.

Any idea what this could be?

Sounds like a bad TCC solonoid. Just a guess though. See if any codes are stored. Some codes will not set a ses light.

My RMPS would fluctuate like that while cruising at about 65. A day later my trans went out.

Mine just started doing this also, only when I'm under mid to heavy braking though, usually getting off the highway.

Mine also does this, but at 47 mph. It started immediately after I got tuned by Vector...It is annoying and hurting gas mileage.

It was retuned 3 times using a dyno and a wideband to fix the problem. I am hoping its my throttle body which i am currently replacing.

i have been noticing this to, especially when the car is somewhat warm or cold. itll go down to 500.... in drive if i let off the gas
