Having trouble removing rotors
I decided to do a brake job on my 06 Monte. I've done plenty of other cars, but I seem to be having trouble getting the front rotor off the car. I removed all of the normal bolts, but the rotor won't budge. Am I missing something?

Take a dead blow hammer and brass tap (or an old bolt or something) and just bump the hat of the rotor. It's a common problem to have the rotor rust a bit and seize itself in place.

I had the problem with the torx when I did my brakes, just took a torx bit put it into the slot and gave it a few taps to loosen the rust from the threads, it came out easy after that.
the right rear on my car gave me a bit of trouble too, but i just had to go hulk on it to get it off (E brake was a bit worn in also)
if all else fails you could try using a little bit of heat on the hat of the brake..

Okay... BAD ADVICE WARNING!!!
When I had problems with a seized rotor, I made sure that all of required bolts were off. Then I reattached the wheel (loosely) and drove forward about ten feet and slammed on the brakes. There was enough wiggle room that it loosened it right up. Probably not the best answer you get. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

there is a small allen bolt that holds the rotor on. It is below the hub. Make sure you take that off. I had the same problem and found out it was the bolt. Also, if your rotors are rusted on there try taking a torch to it and soaking the **** out of it with lube penetrating spray and like other people have said beat that mother like a red headed step child. My rears were rusted to the hub and it took me 2 hours to get them off. I was pissed, but got the job done.

I would also put caliper grease on the hub face (NOT THE STUDS) before you put the new rotors on to prevent the problem from occurring again. I also grease the backs of my wheels where they make contact with the rotor.

Ditto. I grease the studs, the hub where the rotor centers on it, the face of the rotor where the rim sits, and the bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket when doing a brake job. Cheap insurance to making the next job easier.

The emergency brake only works the rear, correct? I'm working on the front rotors. I don't see an allen bolt near the hub. Front side or rear side? Thanks!

Yeah the allen bolt should be somewhere around there by the hub....and trust me take the E brakes off and try that!!
