wierd idea i know...
so on my gxp with the sunroof on there the headroom is horrendous!... i was just curious has anyone tried a way to get rid of the sunroof and just put a standard roof on the car.. or would that hurt the frame?

I'm 6'4", and I've been thinking along the same lines since about a week after I got the car. I was thinking of making it more like a moon roof and just removing the mechanism and cutting up a stock headliner. Another issue that pops up is the side curtain airbag. A telescoping steering wheel would also help.

I'm 6' and don't have an issue... and I don't lean way back... I made sure to adjust the seat all the way down to the floor as far as it will go though...
have you lowered your seat all the way down??

x2 on that question Lew!
I'm not sure how you guys have your drivers seat positioned but I'm 6'5'' and have never had an issue with headroom. Seat's all the way down with no gangsta lean. Even with a hat on I don't have any problems. I actually think the Monte is quite roomy for a coupe.

I'm 6'4" and, when I was looking for cars, I looked at several Monte SSs. Each one of them, even with the seat down as far as possible, I kept having my hair rub against the ceiling-fabric. The only way to stop it was to lean the seat back into an uncomfortable position. I ended up getting an Impala SS because it's roof-line is a little higher.
