Default Going back to Ultras

Switching back to SilverStar Ultras. I've had nothing but bad luck with every kind of Bulb blowing in the passenger side headlight. H.I.D.'s=Blown bulb,Xenon Bulbs=Blown Bulb....Everything blows with the exception of The SS Ultras.

Yes they are expensive but compared to buying a new bulb every 4-6 months vs. spending the money upfront 1 time it's really cheaper....And those damn H.I.D. bulbs?????...Fugettaboutit,LoL.

I've had the same pair of DDM HIDs in my Impala for two years with no problems.

If you keep blowing bulbs on the same side, then maybe you ought to try to troubleshoot the wiring to that headlight.

Also, when you ran the HIDs, were you running a relay harness?

When I was running the H.I.D.'s I was using relays and the harnesses. The problem began befors the H.I.D.'s were ever installed though. Xenons went in like the day after purchase. Wemt through various bulbs then to Ultras & 2 H.I.D.'s and finally to back 2 Ultras. Had the wiring checked and nothing was wrong. Just a freak from the factory.

I personally use HIDS in my car, but in my motorcycle I used Orsam Nightbreaker Plus and they are leaps and bounds better than Ultras. IMHO.

Here where I am $36 is a good deal. Don't go cheap cause you get what you pay for.

Okay I have The Ultras installed and I hate them,LoL. After The Blue Xenons the dullness of the Ultras leaves a lot to be desired. Someone here suggested Osrams....I might have to give them a try.

Ultras are known to blow after a few months. In my 99 grand prix I use philips xtreme power in the headlights and osram nightbreakers in the fogs. Best combo that I have had. As an FYI anything with a blue costing on the bulb limits light output. The ultras are blue coated to make them appear whiter.

Haven't had any Ultras blow on me yet, infact they're the only 1's that don't blow. I've always switched to somethong else before I've ever had to change 1. Curious about those Osram's though.

^^ X 2 I had them in my Impala and lasted me about 9 months . They both burnt out at the same time , I thought I had a lighting issue when I saw I had no headlights LOL.

I had problems with my hids untill I shut off the feature that turns the lights on when I unlock the car. That with the relay I haven't had any problems. It's something with our auto lights not giving the correct power for the ballast. I never had any problems with my fog lights and they are always on.
