New gxp owner for cartunning turbo kit
Hey guys would like some help I've purchased an 08 gxp with 40k miles and I'm looking to make way more out of it. I've been doing a lot of reading and am wanting to buy the car running turbo kit for this car.( I've had one previously on my 01 3800 Grand Prix. Here is what all I'm looking to buy: Turbokit, 1.8 rockers, valve springs, exhaust. So will I need to have the transmission built to support this and if so what do you suggest? And also what other upgrades or parts will help? Is it possible to port the intake? I'm looking to purchase and have all the work done at one time. Thanks ahead of time for any replys.

Plus... if you turbo your car... It was suggested to me that the air is being shoved in it so damn hard that no real gains come from modifying or replacing it.... going NA though is a different story I'm sure.

If you get the Car Tuning kit - get the 3" upgrade/ larger turbo for sure!
Boost makes up for a lot but I'd say intake swap is definitely worth it - you can stay on the lower cost side by going with LS1 intake because the 10-15 peak HP difference to the LS6 intake becomes miniscule under boost. But any other LS intake is an improvement of the LS4 intake - it was designed to reduce power from the motor !! (& emissions)

Yes, Kevin has 2 options - standard kit has 2.5 downpipe and uses stock rear manifold, the 3" has billet turbo and custom rear manifold & spools much better. No need to port the intake manifold unless it's something you particularly want to do - cost vs return isn't great for porting LS1 when your running boost, unless it's all out power build and your willing to chase 10 hp...
