Default O/R Y for stock manifolds...

is there a good O/R Y pipe for stock manifolds? i dont have enough $$$ for headers at the moment and would like a little more volume (sound wise).

is there a second set of O2 sensors that would throw codes without a cat on a 1996 LT1?

or should i just cut it out and weld a new pipe in place of the cat?

Save your money. Buying an O/R y-pipe for exhaust manifolds is a terrible waste.

Just remove your cats and put piping in where they were using the stock y-pipe. But, you'd have to worry about the rear o2's on a '96. You'd have to either get a tune to tune them out, or just get some o2 sims.

just gut your cats if you want it louder. Its free and wont hurt anything. You'll get a code like stated above but it doesnt affect the way the car runs.

Check this out: http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...zedy-pipe.aspx

For that price I'd save my money for headers though... I modified my stock one to be cat-less for cheap but it was a royal PITA

I don't want to lose my sound, but wouldn't mind having a bit better flow with a better Y heh. I don't have money for anything though, so it's all out of the question. If I ever do get headers, it'll be Mids for sure. I've thought about !Cat with a +resonator to help keep the sound down but give good flow. I just don't want the sound of my exhaust to change I love it.
