So I'm trying to help Baylove out with his swap fellas.. From what he has told me, he has the stock 2.73 gear ratio and he's looking to change them out to a 3.73 gear ratio. Now from what I understand, the 2.73 Camaro's came with a different carrier and to swap gears weather it be a 3.23, 3.42 etc etc you would have to get a 3 series carrier that came in the Z28 that had 3.42 and so on. True?? If so, can anyone on here help a fellow f-body owner out with his swap or at least steer him in the right direction? A local shop has told him he wouldn't need a new carrier to go to a 3.73 but from what I remember you do. I'm no gear expert when it comes to Bay's situation.

AFAIK, you will need a 3 series carrier if your car came stock with 2.73's. I remember reading this when i swapped gears on my old Z28.
