I had to do some very slight grinding on the inside of the passenger cover to clear the first rocker. We're talking about 1/16" maybe. Other than that, no issues at all. Did you get the LT1-specific ones with the alternator notch or the SBC ones?

A little work with a hammer took care of mine.
The affected area down behind the alt, you can't even see it.
No clearance issues at all with the alt.
The rubber VC gaskets didn't seal very well though, I ended up using cork ones instead.
They held their shape and stayed put when I installed the covers on both sides.
I used a breather, but it was sealed so that it vented to a 1/2" hose, which I plugged into the TB.
That should prevent issues with "unmetered air" while preserving the vacuum.
