Default LTXshootout 09...I really think there should be a bolt on only class...

I posted this on ltxtech.com but i figured i'd get a lil more opinions on here...

i was just thinkin about it, and i really think there should be a bolt on only class... there r soooooo many guys out there with just bolt on only cars who dream about competitive heads up racing but cant because there car dosent fit the class... the majority of us dont have the money/time/ or recources to have an extravagent build or even a mild heads cam build...

it would be easy to set up.... base it on the GMHTP bolt on only rules with no weight limit (but no lexan, and must keep 2 front seats etc etc) and let them rip!

just my .02 but i think it would be cool... us slower guys never get a chance to race heads up!

(btw this is just an idea figured i would throw it out there, i dont even think i will be able to make it to this upcoming shootout neways)

Sounds like a good idea, i'm hoping to make it this year but wouldn't be bolt on only anymore, i got a little cam going in this winter.

Things to think about.

1st the cars are at least 11 years old...stock is getting harder to find.

2nd once stock IS defined there will be a need for tear downs. You ready to tear down?

The Possibility of cheating in a class like this is very high. Good luck man!

completely agree, it would be real hard to tell if someone has a small cam or if the motor is a 355 etc. Its just too hard to control...

I think it would be better to have a 12.00 index heads up class. This would allow the bolt-on and mild combo guys to run heads up.

If this is done I will take out one of the bracket classes and just have one LTX bracket class instead of two.

That would be an awesome idea tony. I'd def be down for that class. What if my car was a high 11 sec car? could i add some weight in it to drop me back to low 12's so i could run that class? I'm hoping low 12's high 11's for my new set up and would love to do some heads up racing.

Just try not to do any sandbagging! Not fair to the other guys that are running "ALL OUT" (Pinks phrase)

i love the idea tony im all behind it... there really is no need for 2 bracket classes.... well maybe do box guys run off then no box guys run off then have the winners of each run off for the bracket title... thats how they do it at IHRA national events

The index is the limiting factor...if you go 11.99 you automatically lose unless the other guy goes even faster....its just like a bracket but everyone has the same dial-in
