Question 94 Z28 to 94 Z28 LT1 & 4L60E Swap?

okay so i have 2 94 Camaro Z28's both A4's, one is my wrecked car and the other is the new car.

I want to swap my engine and trans from my wrecked car into the new car because the motor isnt that great in the new camaro.

will it be hard to swap motor's and trans? i have never done this before but i have changed almost everything on my LT1 before IE water pump, OPTI, Top end gaskets stuff like that i know my LT1.

Any suggestions on making this swap?

Any help would be appreciated!

The easiest way would be to get to a Shop where you have a Frame Lift, and I would drop the K-Member on the wrecked one, take what you want, put it back together to make a roller, and then pull in the nice one, drop the K-Member and swap it all out.

^^What he said. Just drop K-member, leave wheels on so you can roll the roll K-member out easier. That's how I did it when I swapped in the 96 Lt1 from a wrecked car.

I forgot to mention using a STB to hold struts together to make it easier to roll around.

Personally I wouldn't swap K-Members..his is aligned to his vehicle, and the old one could have fucked up Wheel Bearings due to the Wreck.

I would drop it, and pull the Engine off, and then make the old one a Roller, and drop the good Engine into the new Car.

Either way he' still gonna need an alignment if he drops K-member. One of the ways to get caster to change is to loosen subframe bolts and use pry bar to move subframe while someone else tightens bolts. As for something being messed up, your right about that.

Yeah i dont want to use anything from the wrecked car except the motor, tranny driveshaft and Rear end.

Provided all these parts are in good working order still!

I want to take the motor out of this Blue camaro and Rebuild it with bigger came and all the goodies and one day drop it into the car with a built LT1 baby. man i smile just thinking about it!

SO HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THE WHOLE SWAP WILL TAKE?

I HAVE TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY OFF THIS WEEKEND COMING UP DO YOU THINK THIS IS ENOUGH TIME?
