cam or spray first?
i am having a tough time deciding what to do next, throw in a cam (probably crane 831 with crane 1.6 RR's, etc) or go with nitrous (plate system from Nitrous Outlet i would probably a spray a conservative 100 shot). i know that obviously the cam would give me power all the time and the nitrous only when i spray.
for a car that is daily driven what would you do first? both will be done eventually, but which one first?

skip the cam and up the shot to 150. same power, a lot cheaper.
if the car were a daily driver I would buy a beater first then get spray/cam. I made the mistake of having my fun car as my daily driver. it just does NOT work.

ive got a cammed A4 for a DD doesnt bother me, doesnt take a huge cam to make some noticeable gains as well. although the spray is a good way to get a little exta upmh when ever you want it. and if you do the spray i'd stay 100 or lower.

only in the shortrun. cause if your like me and you cant keep your finger off that button. 40- 50 dollars a bottle gets expensive. id go with a cam if i had to do it all over again. plus it sounds better too

i would keep the shot low 75-100. i dont want a third car as a DD... lol. i already have the IROC set up for drag, but i cant afford to insure them both.
i know a cam wouldnt get in the way of daily driving with me anyways. i had another thirdgen that was cammed and it was fine to drive on a daily basis.

as far as the headers, i will have access to a lift in the next month or so, so i was going to hold off on headers until then. which would probably make them easier to install.

my IROC hasnt seen the track yet . i cant afford to insure both cars. its been a continual project, it is ready and runs well, still has a few minor bugs to it though. its a carbed cammed 350 with P&P'd heads, Hooker LT's # 3 1/2" bullet dumped under the passenger seat, manual steering, no a/c, serpentine swap. with every bit of weight reduction and full rod end suspension and 90/10's and 50/50's. 9" rear, stalled 700R4 @ ~2800, probably in the 12's once i get her tuned at the track.

I would have to say cam it 1st. if your having a hard time decideing & only if you have a good exhaust/headers @ a minimum. In my case, everytime i get an N2o set-up for any of my cars, i either NEVER spray it, or spray it a few times then sell off the system lol, i will agree that its hard to keep off the nitrous other then rear accasions, so you find yourself spraying the **** out of it & wanting more, there comes the bottle fills & worrying about blowing up the engine, but with a cam, the powers there ALL the time, may not have that "kick-in-***" feeling, but there worth a good 40+ rwhp with a tune, now if you decide to spray it, don't touch anything as far as mods, just drop on the bottle, get the fuel system in check, window switch, possible heater if wanted, then some stickier tires & have fun.

I agree with everyone else. Do ur headers and stuff first then ur cam and then do the nitrous when ur ready. Like pny said earlier he dd's his a4 cam and bolt on t/a and it runs great.
