Default good deal?

just got home from picking up my new z. its a 97 with 98k on it. 6spd, black with tan leather interior. pretty clean. has about a 3" cowl hood on it...high rise spoiler (which ill be replacing with a ss "clone" spoiler i have). it has

hooker LT headers non emmissions
OFY
4.10 gears
K+N cold air
hypertech programmer
zr1 wheels
few other odds and ends

need 6th gear syncro (have another trans), headliner, windows are inop.

also has a popping like a back fire while at idle when hot...under about 1400rpm. i have to look into that. any ideas where to start? he says it had old gas in it from not moving...possible to the gas is doing it?

ill post pics once someone tells me how to..lol

I don't think you even had to ask if you got a good deal or not. lol. But, great find. I wish I could've found one that cheap. As for the backfire, it could be anything. You could try running that gas out, and putting new in it first. Then, if that doesn't work, check into O2 sensors or cleaning your MAF. If all that doesn't work, then I'd look into plugs/plug wires/opti possibly.

craigslist is a wounderful thing! ahaha...thats where i found it. kid needed to pay college tuition and said would take any price....i emailed the 1500 and he agreed.

i just dropped off my ss spoiler to get painted. ill get some pics when its on. i got home after dark tonight so no more pics yet but will get some. as well as videos.

also on the popping. i completly forgot to mention...theres nothin after the ORY. possible the lack of exhaust is causeing it? its hooker lt into the ofy then nothin. i was thinkin gas first so ill empty it and fill and see what happens. already sounds like its getting better so we will see.

i did know it was a deal...hence why i jumped on it. just wanted to share...appreciate the input guys!

just wanted to show off and rub in our faces

heh its cool. and the popping could be from no exhaust. is it when you accelerate or decelerate?

Mine use to pop out of the exhaust when I wiped a lobe on the cam but, the lifter was raising hell also. I would start with the stupid stuff first. That's my rule. Good buy and good luck.
