Intake is off now what?
Okay I took my exhaust manifold off waiting on log tubes to get here, and I took my intake manifold off to take to the machine shop to get it matched to my 58mm tb.
Is there anything I need to do while these are off? I plan on new plugs and wires and running the wires over the top, anything else?
What is the sensor on the back of the block that is visible now that the intake mani is off? Is there anything I can put on all the oily sludge around the pushrods to clean this area up?
Thanks guys

You have any budget? Do a cam would be the logical move lol I say get that Speed Inc cadillac cam! Won't need a tune and you're guaranteed 30hp (you'll get more like 50 though) and it performs just like stock
But honestly :\ Nothing I can think of. Maybe replace the rear oil pressure sensor just to get it done. (that's the sensor you asked about).

the sensor on the back is your oil press. you can pick on up for like 30 bucks i think at advance. POLISH YOUR FUEL RAILS!!!!!!!! that will brighten your car up just polish them up real quick. if you have your egr still on. take the egr hose that goes from your intake to your header take that off and close it up. . other than that good luck with it all

Honestly, I would save the money you are going to spend on the 58mm TB and machine work to the intake and spend it elsewhere. I'd buy some 1.6 rr's and LT4 springs or something like that. You'll see better gains from it. I'm already assuming you have a CAI, that's mod 1.

I have a buddy that works for a local shop, so I am not paying for the intake work. I already bought the tb, so that is a done deal. I plan on heads and cam late this summer, so that is when I will do rr's and springs. Anything els???
Also I am doing Pacesetter long tubes, so how do I connect them to my 2.5" true duals. I mean it is a 3" slip joint, so how do I connect it and make the transition to 2.5".
