Default Injector Question

Buddy of mine has a 383 lt1 with 30 lb injectors. It feels like the car falls off on the big end, are the 30 lb injectors big enough or should he go bigger? He is also running a 175 shot of n2o

When I spoke to Lloyd Elliot about my cam swap he said that 30 SVO's are typically good upto 425 RWHP. But as most will tell you there is now way to tell unless you scan it and see what the Inj Duty Cycle are at and if you are peaking past 95+%. Might want to look at 37# if you are set on getting new injectors.

My 30# SVO's were hitting 91% DC at 412 RWHP. I now have racetronix 37# (untuned) and I dont yet know the new DC's.

30lb injectors are probably on the small side. My 383 wouldn't cut it on 30lb SVOs. I had to step up to some 42lb Racetronix. 37lb would probably be fine too. I had room to grow with the 42s.

would the 42's be enough to handle a 300 shot?

A 300 shot is no joke. Injector selection will likely be the least of your worries with a shot that big.

OTOH, chances are good 42# injectors won't be enough.

Delphi/SVOs are good choices. I'm using Delphi 42#s.

I don't like the fact that they've been "modified" and that they provide a range of flow rates. Delphi or SVO, hands down.

Without any tweak to the tune, YES.

Many 383s are fine on 30lbs injectors IF the fuel system is up to snuff. I would not assume they are too small just yet.

MANY high rpm power losses are caused by improper or worn out springs but everyone wants to change everything else first.

When folks reccommend an injector ask WHY, the answers will usually center around MARKETING though the person doing the recommending wont realize that is what swayed them.

When you purchase injectors make sure you get the correct impedance or you will need and injector driver...
