Default Can I reuse my head studs

Hey guys I was wondering if I can keep my current head studs when changing head gasket out. Money is tight at the moment put if needed I can do a budget. So what would you recommend? I am getting new head bolts but to I need to get new studs?

Bolts essentially work the same as studs. Studs offer a more even clamping force, but for normal street and strip applications, bolts are fine.

Stock head bolts are TTY (torque-to-yield) and should not be reused.

If you are already getting bolts, why are you asking about studs? You don't use both. Plus, you could reuse the studs and not buy anything. Studs are problematic to seal, though. Curious as to why you are having to change the head gasket(s).

Sort of sounds like the OP is confusing the trems "bolts" and "studs". I may be talking out of line, or completly missing something here, but if you have head studs on your engine, I hope you're not expecting to pull the heads with the engine in the car......

Pulling heads with the engine in the car is a PITA, with or without arp head studs. I've done both. Now whenever I do heads and cam installs, I just drop the motor and trans...sooo much easier.
