28" tires with a 3.23 gear will act more like 3.00" gears on a 26" tire. You're effectively reducing your gear ratio.

theres a calculator for this in the drag section and depending on the power range of the cam they could be too big if 6200 is the end of the power band the spinning more then that would be where the power starts to drop. but with nitrous it could keep pulling

What stall rating is his converter? If it's stock, he would need a higher rear gear. More info please.

28" tires are going to be pretty tall for a 3.23 car.

4.10s would be more appropriate with a 28" tire for a car at that power level. 3.23 is going to be way undergeared.

28" can work if stalled properly

I run a 3.42, 28" & SS4000 on my dad's LS1 car and it works well on and off spray.

I had this same debate once. I also knew of a couple guys claiming 75 and 100hp but it was more like 150 and 200.

i had a 3rd gen with a 3.73 gear. and a 28'' tire. i was cutting 1.50's 60fts. i switched to a 3.42 gear and a 26''. everyone was like huh??? why would you do that. it still cut 1.50's 60fts and was more streetable. if you got enough tq a high gear and a short tire are the way to go. but if you dont have power or tq then a higher gear and maybe even a smaller tire. i would go with 26's no matter what.
