Default True Duals

What are you guys running for pipe diameter? I was planning on going with 3" but I think it might be a bit much for just a bolt-on lt1. Anyone running 2 1'2"?

I'm running 2.5". It's more than enough for a bolt-on LT1. I forgot what each piping diameter was good too for power.

That's what I was thinking. What kind of an x-pipe are you running?

Jegs universal x-pipe. Most people run that or Summit. The kit's exactly the same, and the same price. So, whichever company you'd rather order from, go for it.

I've heard the 3" is deeper sounding, I would think it wouldn't be as efficient as 2 1/2" with the power output I'm currently making though.

3" will take away a little low end torque i felt. 2 1/2" sounds great and performs great, and you don't lose as much ground clearance.

imo 2.5", sounds better, less obnoxious for DDing, and better ground clearance.

A 2.75” (stock) single system is good for a 310hp engine with zero loss…
A 3” Single system is good for a 370hp engine with zero loss…
A 3.5” Single system is good for a 503hp engine with zero loss…
A 4” Single system is good for a 657hp engine with zero loss…
A 2.25” dual system is good for a 457hp engine with zero loss…
A 2.5” dual system is good for a 513hp engine with zero loss…
A 3” dual system is good for a 812hp engine with zero loss…

I'm running a 2.5" X-pipe. I'm running 2.5" over 3" because my car is lowered and its easier to fab it up real close to the body with that diameter. Either one is way better than a 3" Y-Pipe setup so you can't go wrong.

Thanks for the info guys, 2 1/2" sounds like my best bet. . hmmm I wonder if my exhaust shop could fab up an x-pipe a little cheaper than a summit or jegs kit. Anybody have a custom x-pipe?

Did you go to staples muffler shop in north vernon there? I had a truck done there few years ago for TDs. But they didn't know how much exhaust for formula was gonna be.

Yeah I get all my exhaust work done there, I've been in there quite a few times with this and my previous car. I havn't had the duals priced yet, I'm gonna wait until I'm closer to being done with the header/converter install. I can let you know how much it costs if you're interested.

That's more expensive than the summit/jegs x-pipe kit.
