Default Oil leaks. Be honest, how many of you guys engines dont leak any oil? Please chime in!

Everyone please reply if you've ever been under your car. I seem to have never had an engine that doesnt leak oil from somewhere and was wondering if there are ANY of you guys engines that doesnt leak oil from somewhere. My LT1 leaks out of the rear main I believe but its so hard to tell where the oil is coming from on these engines. Even if your engine only leaks a small film or a few drops a month I still want to hear about it because that is hard to achieve. If it leaks a quart a week I want to hear about it! So post away! I want to know! Thanks!

Mine is leaking somewhere in the front timing chain cover. I tried fixing it but still leaks. It leaves about 5-6 quater size drops after i turn it off. idling it leaves 1-2 drops. i hate it.

^ I think thats about the norm for these cars. Mine is leaving 2-3 quarter size drops when I turn it off near where the tranny starts. I have to put cardboard down where I park in the garage. I think its impossible to have an engine that is completely leak free.

I need to replace my pass side valve cover and front cover. Probably going to bang out all the seals in a weekend.

Honest... Before I gutted my entire motor out I never once had 1 oil drop anywhere. The previous first owner said he has used "Synthetic" from day one. I have as well. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I would guess to say your rear main is leaking.

Very little. My block was in really good shape w/ 76k. Now my Jeep on the other hand pukes oil and differential fluid like it's going out of style and yet still runs like a champ.

Mine doesn't now - but that is after changing the oil pan gasket, front timing cover gasket, rear main seal, and intake manifold gasket one after another .

My 93 Z with 127K started leaking after I sprayed degreaser onthe underside then powerwashed it off. It was a steady drip drip drip. I droped the motor and trans and Im replacing every gasket on the engine including the rear main seal and front seals, trans pump seal, and pan, tail shaft seal. Hope it works.

Didn't leak at all, until I pulled the oil pan seal on my first cam install (my bad!).

New motor has no leaks though.

i'm leaking somewhere around my timing cover, i think the crank seal. seems to leave a few drops after i cut it off. just replaced a valve cover gasket today and hoping that solves the massive one i had

i looked at a 94 z28 2 days ago with 210k miles on it and it didn't leak a drop, i was amazed

LOL, that's what happened to my very first LT1. Lost about a quart a week, no joke, leaks and burning oil. RIP old motor...
