They do not even say what you are buying besides a kit, with god knows what in it. Even if they will tell you they should have it listed.

Well first of all, what are your intentions with the car? How far are you planning to go with it. If your only planning 'the usual' H/C LT1 setup and nothing more than the kit above from TPIS would be overkill. They have budget LT1 kits starting at under a grand, you could substitute for forged pistons and be good to go.

Well in that case yeah forged is the way to go. You'll be over 500rw with a LE2 + 150-shot.

At least a forged piston, I would go forged rods also, stock crank "could" handle that, but why change the crank?

Ai Budget 355cid LT1 Rotating Assembly Package:

# Utilizes Stock 3.48" Stroke Crankshaft (Not Included!)
# Compstar Forged 4340 H-Beam Rods
# Mahle Forged Pistons (-5cc or -16cc)
# Mahle Plasma-Moly 1.5/1.5/3mm Ring Package
# Mahle Steel Pins & Wire Locks
--------------------------------------------------------
Compstar makes good quality budget parts in most peoples minds including mine, mahle pistons are also highly rated across the board.

So you get rods, pistons, and rings for $1195

Compstar rods are $600 or around there alone, not sure on the price of Mahle pistons etc, so may look into that.

i think the budget 355 kit would be good for the le2 and 150 shot. not to pricey you just use your stock crank. or buy the forged 355 kit.

the 355 would turn up quicker than a 383 wouldn't it because of the shorter stroke correct ?

Cranks can get pricey quick, forged especially. I think they are just going to have you utilize your own stock crank.
