Default Mild cam and 1.6's stock valve cover?

I was wondering if it's possible to use stock valve cover's with 1.6 rocker's and a 565/565 lift cam? I trying to keep a sleeper look about the car if possible but if thats not , whats a good valve cover to get?

thanks, chuck

you can keep the stock valve covers, you just might have to trim the supports on the inside depending on which rockers you use.

+1. I havee stock valve covers over my Comp 1.6 Pro Mags. Trimmed the supports and no rubbing.

I'm assuming those lift numbers are with the 1.6 rr's...

Thanks for the link and that's one bad *** ride. I hope my car comes out half as good as yours. Did the instruction go for both valve covers?

What he said or Ebay has some fairly inexpensive chrome ones. Here is a pic of them installed.

Did those bolt right up or did you have to trim them too? Are those the short or tall valve covers?

You can get them off of ebay already notched for the alternator, and they clear 1.6rr's with ease. I have a stock cam in mine, but I know clearance around the rockers is perfect.

I also used the fatrodder covers on my first build, and they fit my Crane Golds just fine. I switched over to the Canton's on my newest build, but am switching back to the fatrodders because the Canton's are a bitch to seal properly.

I just had to trim the supports to clear ProMags. I just used my middle sized Snap-On dikes. Took less 10 mins for both..

you don't even need to trim them at all. Just bend the end of the suport that's "L" shapped straight, and they'll be fine. You MAY or MAY not have to crush the baffle on the pass side.

I had to trim the supports a tad bit...nothing major. Height wise they are a tad bit taller then stock. No fitment issues on the passenger side with the alternator.
