Default LS1 lid and stock firebird hood??

Im wanting to do the LS1 lid setup on my formula. Will it fit under the stock flat firebird hood?? I dont mind cutting the underside of the hood out to make it work if need be. I plan on making the hood a pin on style anyways.

Thanks

I've heard it will work under a stock camaro hood but i doubt it would work under a stock firebird one. i used to have the stock hood on my 95 and i seem to remember the inner reverse scoops making the hood sit lower in the center area which would probably mean it wouldn't clear the firebird hood like it does the more flat camaro hood. just my .02 though i have never tried it.

Yeah, I tried too.. It won't fit without cutting a bunch of stuff.. So I bought a ram air hood and now it fits nice, with NO cutting on my car...

the lid will work with the stock hood, like the camaro you cannot use the Ls1 shroud/support.since you do not mind some fab work this is the mod for you.

Well guys I made it fit. I did have to cut the supports on the under side of the hood and cut a piece of the core support out...but it was no big deal. All that is left is to make a cover to go over the sides of the radiator and get some rubber hose to go from the intake-maf-to the lid. So YES IT IS POSSIBLE to do if your willing to do a little fab work.
