Are 410's a big jump from 373's?

Are 410's a big jump from 373's?
I have an LT1, currently in the shop for blown head gaskets, with 373's and a TC with a 2800 stall. I'm contemplating going from 373's to 410's while its in the shop. Is this a worthwhile mod as far as performance gain? The car is basically a daily driver/ toy. I'll keep the 373's gears if I break the 410's.

Ive had them both in my auto T/A and i currently have the 4.10s. I would definitly keep the 3.73s. The 4.10s pull great but i really dont think they are anybetter than the 3.73s as far as that goes. Im tacking 2400 at 60Mph and gatting 17 MPG. If i had it to do over i woulda kept the 3.73s.

Hey all, thanx for the advice. As far as the TC stall at 2800, I had multiple so called "experts" opine that anything over 3K would be too much, for that stock LT1 setup & gears. As it is now, with standard DOT tires, the tires roast at WOT. Think I need 555's or somethin else....The car, a TA, is not a show car, but a daily driver. I **** off alot of people with newer "faster" cars. Alot of fun doin' that. For what it matters, car also has a CAI & flowmaster muffler only. Motor is bone stock. Recently painted all car all black , with chrome stock wheels. A modest sleeper.

Listen to the guys on here with experience, not your "so-called experts." A 2800 is usually the BARE minimum for aftermarket stalls. I drove a 3500 for 6 years and never had any problems with drivability.

most tranny shops that don't specialize in performance will try to steer you away from anything over a 2600~ or so stall. I know the one that put my convertor in did. I went with a 3000 and they tried to change my mind. in all honesty wish I woulda went bigger, like a 3400-3600

I had a 3200 stall with 2.73's and it was completly awesome. Pulled like crazy. I loved it, would go bigger next time though. I now have a stock stall with 4.10's and it pulls just as hard if not harder than with the converter alone. I daily drove my car with 4.10's and it was bad *** gas milage was not an issue as it was way better than the gas milage with the stall. I personaly don't think that 4.10's are too much for an A4.

As everyone said, 3.73's are the most you should go w/ a stock auto with stock sized tires.
