new opti still no start..

Default new opti still no start..

my 94 trans am broke down a couple months ago (again)... it started out on an interstate pull against a buddy, we take off and when i hit about 5 grand the car would act like you hit a rev limiter and fall on its face. it run about a month after that until it started doing it at 2 grand, then i parked it and no start since then.. i just replaced the opti and coil put it back together and still no start im lost and out of ideas. it will turn over but acts like it wont hit its getting spark. but no start. need help.. thanks..

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Having an issue similar to this with mine & I suspect its fuel relate.

Did you go through with a complete troubleshooting of the ignition system? The ICM may have been the culprit in the first place.

yea,... check and or replace:
ICM
plugs and wires
fuel pressure regulator
fuel injectors
and maybe even fuel pump

did you put the opti 180 off. it may sound funny but i did the same thing and had the same problem. pulled it back off to find i had it 180 off. fired right up after that

Its fuel im getting about 20lbs to the test port and it will start under starting fluid. What should i check/replace first?

i would suggest to replace the pump and filter first

Basically what you just did...test the fuel pressure at the schrader valve.
You could change the fuel filter first and see if any pressue increase is seen. If not, change the pump.

anotheway to test the pump is to take it out, but not worth the effort if ur dropping the tank, just replace it. if pressure is that much down i assume its the pump,,,most probably

Similar issues here with mine about a year and a half-ago. My ground at the ICM wasn't that good and caused all kinds of problems. Check all your grounds for corrosion. If you have a side-mount battery, look for corrosion where your terminal screws go into the battery. I haven't messed with the fuel system yet so hopefully the guys above have provided you with some insight there.
