no, youre going to need to get and lt4 intake to match up with the heads...something with the angle of the lt4 heads being different than the angle with the lt1

Easier solution.....take the intake to a machine shop. Have them add material, ~1/4" to the top of the ports on the outside. Have them machine the surface to flat with the rest of the intake, then gasket match the port. Your done. Shouldn't take the shop more than a day if they know what they're doing. Then you have no problem bolting your LT1 intake to LT4 heads.....Not a big deal like everyone makes it out to be.

duh is right.
LT4 intake are not all that much different from LT1s aside from the red powdercoat. Yes, the LT4 runners are slightly higher than the LT1, but not some much that an LT1 cant be made to work with a little effort.

I'll spoken with LE about this before, it's just a matter of adding some material in the area shown above, then machining it flat and opening the port up to match the LT4's raised ports.
Maybe LE will chime in and give better details...

However, if he really has a TRUE gm LT4 intake, I don't blame him for not
wanting to trade straight across.

I'm cheap. I'd spend the money in modifying the original when the motor build comes to that point. Then I can have it all ported to flow together. This is just me. I also believe it's less of the pain in the butt as to locating an original or spending the money on an edelbrock piece. This is just my .02 though.....

i have done alot of research on this lately ( I don't know why, I'm not buying LT4 heads?) both here on on CZ28. There are a few guys who have used the LT1 intake without mods. There is very little area above the ports for the intake to seal but it can work...sometimes. I say give it a shot without mods and if you need to add material take it from there. Good luck,
