Problems with a hypertech programmer.
I was trying to sell the hypertech programmer to a guy with a 96 lt1 impala. he wanted to see if it would install before he bought it so i said sure. when we hooked it up to the port underneath the steering wheel with the key on, it didn't go into a programming mode. it scanned the computer and it said "cycle power to computer" or something along those lines and it turned off. Does this happen often? i think it may have something to do with his car cuz there were wires all underneath the dash like someone had messed with it.
I wanna get this thing sold but he won't buy it unless it says it can program....Any advice or suggestions on what I should try to do?

the manual says it can be used on the impalas also..
Edit: yes it is returned to stock. if the tune was still in my camaro it would have read a "vin mismatch".....
