there wont be a world of difference between any aftermarket elbows by any means...just pick whatever you think looks the nicest/cleanest...
I got a non polished trickflow and I love it, it matches my engine bay and I ordered it from summit...
for the price of a relacement factory one you can buy a non-baffled, clean looking aftermarket vortech or trickflow one, which many speculate will flow better, but it hasn't really been proven I don't think...another plus, you don't have to worry about it ripping...

i bought the trickflow ceramic coated one, i love it and it make the engine bay look alot better, but its all in what you want it too look like "stock" or "modded" because that is about the first thing people see on the car(people that dont know anything about cars lol)

My factory elbow lasted around 100K before tearing. What's unfortunate is that I'm not responsible for the tear. My 1LE felt a little bit thicker than the factory elbow. Whether it actually is, I have no idea. Personally, I like the stock look, and the 1LE/stock cross section is larger than any aftermarket elbow I've seen.

It all depends on how much you take the factory elbow on and off...and how often you work on your car when it requires to do so. I'm sure a facotry elbow would last 1,000,000 miles if you never had to take it off. They tear when they are taken on and off...it's just not a good design. To each their own I geuss when it comes to cosmetics-pick what you like, but whoever owns my car in 15-20 years won't have to replace my elbow, that's for sure.
And the 1LE elbow may look or even be larger in diameter, but I believe there are tests that say the trickflows flow better, however, the "gains" on an elbow of any kind are miniscule at best, so it doesn't really matter...just pick what you like the looks of.

I agree that any potential gains probably aren't even noticeable, but I don't see how a smaller trick flow elbow could flow more than the larger 1LE. I also think if you were careful removing and installing the stock elbow, they would never tear. You could also put some vaseline, or something similar, on the throttle body.
