Traction control/Brake bleeding T-100 tool?
Okay, well I tried to do a seach but didn't find anything so if anyone knows a link or could help me with this that would be great .... My question is I'm removing my rear end and needing to remove the brake lines. My haynes manual says that I need a Tech-1 or T-100 scan tool to bleed the brake lines? Do I need to take the car to a dealier like it says or is there a trick you guys know or can I rent this tool?
Thanks for your help,
Braden

I don't know either thats why I figured I would ask here and see what everyone else was doing. Oh well im just gonna pull it apart and see what happens if it explodes and kills everyone in the neighborhood i'll just blame it on faulty info recieved on Ls1tech lol. All seriousness i'll just take it to the dealer if I have to no biggie

The only thing I can see the scan tool doing is individually activate solenoids inside the ABS block to make sure all the air is bleed out of the system. At least that's what I have seen other manufactures do. But NO ONE does it this way. Bleeding the brakes with a vacuum bleeder or the old fashioned way works.

I'd use a Mityvac or similar. Easy, one man job. Keep the M/C full as you bleed. As long as you don't mess with the brake pedal while the lines are open, you should not introduce any other air into the system (just what you have open on the rear).
