cam with stock rockers
So i have finished my cam swap, LE3-springs-1.6rr. Anyways i cant stand the noise my rockers are making. I am going to put the stock rockers back on until i can get better roler rockers. I guess this is what i get for trying to take the cheap route on my rockers.
Is there a limit on my stock rockers. I am just going to leave the guide plates and harden pushods in. This is only going to be temporay but dont know how strong the stocks are.

Bad idea, not 100% on the reasoning behind it cuz i only know so much about valvetrains, but I know this isnt not something you want to do.
When I first intstalled my crane gold's they sounded like a sewing machine for about 1K-1500 miles and the noise slowly faded away, after it went i kind of missed it.

that sounds like a bad idea for two reasons 1) roller rockers make noise I don't know how much you plan on spending on rockers but I bought Comp Ultra Pro Mags and they are noisy, more noisy than the cheap set of magnum roller tip rockers I had on before so I guess roller rockers are going to be noisy regardless. 2) I just don't like the idea of running SA rockers with guideplates especially if it can be avoided and being that your issue is a little valve train noise I would classify this as being avoidable

I would never put stock rockers on a performance cam, stock rockers do and will break at some point, i have seen pushrods break through the seat.
You can try composit valve covers since they do not transmit the sound as much as the steel covers. I may have missed this however, what rockers are you using?

this is on a corvette so i already have the composit valve covers. They are harland sharp rockers. I was only going to run them from the shop to the house so the car didnt have to sit there. but i guess i will just ride it out.
