Default Time to play "Whats that wire"?

I should have taken a picture but obviously I didnt

There is a 3/8" loom with the purple starter wire, knock sensor wire and TWO Black/white 18-20g wires. I think they are PCM grounds to the side of the block but Im not sure.

Anyone confirm this?

In some applications there are 2 wires (I know my 93 harness had two ground wires - they are one wire in the bulkhead connector but somehow split and turn into two). They are both grounds. I just cut them and ran a wire to the negative battery terminal.

Actually, no specific reason. It is currently grounded on the chassis (by the power distribution block).

Of course you know 93s have to be different.

Yes, there are two wires that terminate on the block, above the starter. One comes straight from the ECM with no branches, the other goes to two different pins on the ECM as well as branching a ground feed to other places like:

oil level sensor
DLC
VATS module
transmission position switch (if auto)
fuel pump relay
instrument cluster

So, it's definitely something you want to keep hooked up.

Updated the pic on my site to indicate the different configuration for 93.

hey man, I'd suggest just rewiring the whole car for the standalone. Unless you want/need the factory speedo. You can hardwire the factory coolant temp, oil pressure, and voltmeter stuff. I printed out a lot of schematics thanks to shbox

again

yea I've got my dfi stuff done, I redid some of the harness since it was used and needed some love for my setup. Now that I'm in wiring mode, I'm gonna go ahead and do a pushbutton start, and rewire the cluster to save me 550 bucks on full sweep gauges. I need to redo all my nitrous stuff and run it through the DFI... but that's going to take liquid motivation, like an 18 pack

I knew that would trip someone up that was late to the thread. I try not to miss a chance to update with good info. I had to look it up myself, to see why there were two wires.
