Default Lunati .590/.600 lift cam

A buddy of mine has a cam that came out of a built lt1 car. But I am unsure of the specs. The box is all tore up and the only numbers on the cam that I could see read "288/296". He told me it is around .590/.600 lift with a 3600/7000rpm range. But I am a little worried in just taking his word. The box did have the Voodoo picture but I am unable to find out more about this in a search on here, LTX, and google. I posted this on ltxtech and spent more time arguing with someone about what it came out of than the question I addressed. So anyone got an idea? Thank you in advance.

Lunati voodoo 60122 or 60123 it's one of those two more than likely. That advertised duration sounds like the 60123 which is the big boy. I hope you don't have many stock parts left.

May be some kind of custom grind. If that is advertised duration it is still a pretty large cam if you're wanting to be just cam only.

it should be roughly a 236/245. That cam will rip your motor apart, definitely pass on it

I plan on getting LE heads soon and a ported intake along with supporting mods and spray. So what is the point in this cam? And a 3500 stall. I wonder what it was designed for.

there should be a grind number on the cam somewhere....either on the front snout or between two of the lobes usually towards the front......check it out

I will try to have the guy look. He lives 45 minutes away so its hard to stop by lol. He wants 100 for the cam and springs. I think I am going to buy it and if the cam isn't what I want I can keep the springs and sell the cam for what I paid. I should of taken a picture of the face on the cam because all I remember on in was "288/296" and "FRA" somewhere on it. Anyone ever run one of the cams mentioned earlier?

With the rpm range it sounds like it was built for a high revving forged 355. You would need to shift at around 7200 with that cam

I still don't know if that is true or not. It was what he thought "WAS" correct. I can assume this is not a popular cam. If I run it I won't spin my bottom end over 6500-6700. I shall investigate more and maybe see if I can contact the guy that actually ran that particular cam.

If you can't figure out the specs for the cam (or for the springs for that matter) you're taking a risk using mystery parts, despite them being only $100. You will be much better off and smarter to pick a cam best suited for what you're looking for.

I totally agree. But due to not knowing what this is, IDK if it isn't what would work well for me. I won't buy it without knowing what it is. But the springs have all the numbers and are rated to like .650 lift I believe. I can't remember cause they aren't in front of me. I am just curious if anyone on here would know more about this cam. From experience or a past post.

If the advertised duration is 288/296 it will be smaller than the 60123 cam. So how would it tear my motor apart? The advertised duration is 294/302 and at .050 it is 243/251. Jesus **** that is a huge cam. Makes the one I mentioned seem not that wild.

Because if you use that cam how its supposed to, you will be shifting at 7200 or so. Your stock bottom end won't hold up to that. Even at 6700 that's pushing it

Yeah I was thinking 6500 max on the stock bottom end.
