You will have some extra connections on the late harness, like rear O2s, crank sensor, EVAP vacuum switch and the coil connector won't match. You would have to keep your opti harness, too.

You can compare wiring differences of the coil connectors with schematics on my Tech Page.

I'm switching to a 95 opti as well but the only thing you need is a new opti harness and stupid vacuum tubes (which I'm not putting on.) Oh, and a longer cam dowel..

OP: I am pretty sure just switching the coil to the obd2 style or switching the connectors and keeping your current coil will both work fine, but I'm sure the others have much more lt1 knowledge than myself.

shbox, I have a 97 but swapped to a 95 pcm and knock sensor a few months back. It's running fine, but I noticed that not only is the coil different, but also the ICM carries a different part number. I'm still running the 97 coil and ICM. I know the coil is fine as-is, but is there a compatibility issue with the 97 ICM and the 95 PCM??
OP: I'm thinking it's okay to ask this in your thread since it's kinda relevant and may or may not be something that you have to consider with your harness swap. Otherwise I'd have just started a new thread.
