My ls1 just beat my lt1's times.
It took a long time but my ls is finally quicker than my lt1. Times are in my sig. Both cars have h/c, the difference between them is the ls is an m6, a4 for the lt. Since the lt is my car of choice on race day, I have to come up with a plan to make this car faster than my street car.
I say the lt is my race car but they both still have full interiors, ac, stereo and power windows. There is still something I love about my lt1 that keeps me holding on to it. I prefer the consistency of an auto, plus the torque of the lt1.

I say weight reduction, your race weight seems really high for some reason. Maybe a drag tire setup slicks and or skinnies, bigger stall, ls1 lid. Half of these would not cost you much if you traded/sold old parts. As soon as you cut a 60 like your LT1 it will be even faster.

Easy problem to solve LOL!
Your LT1 is a very mild DD build. Up the cam to an LE or AI grind in the late 220s intake(846 is only a 222/230 IIRC), throw some longtube headers on it, and up the stall to around 3600.
846 is a great and often overlooked off the shelf cam for stock heads, but ported ones can make use of more duration and lift.
Those three changes would be worth a lot of time over what you have now .

Though my ls1 ultimately will have more torque, the lt1 just feels stronger out the gate. There is no comparison after that. The ls1/m6 combination is down right violent. The manual in the ls1 is just too much work for me. It really is a blast having this much power on the street though.
I love the way the lt1 feels at launch. I really would like to get it into the mid to low 11s with a well thought out h/c combo. A 383 would probably get it done without me having to go real wild on the cam. I do have a procharger sitting it the closet from a few years back. That too is a possibility.

I love this thread because I can relate. I have a M6 LT1 though and an A4 LS1 (and a M6 LS1 SS as well for now) and the LT1 has a special spot in my heart especially for racing/spirited driving. I haven't had the A4 LS car to the track yet though but just dig the under dog, beater LT1 thats really a lot of fun to drive. Enjoy!

I really like both ls1 and lt1 cars ive driven both i own a 95 lt1 b4c a4(wish it was m6) and i just love the way it just goes when u hit the throttle and get a little wheel spin but its fun to surprise ls1's when i say its stock and win
it good to see someone supporting both like we should be doing but i guess us Lt1 guys are a rare site sometimes
