Default intake manifold disassembley

how do i take the fuel rails off and the injectors out? i noticed the injectors are in the fuel rail and then go into the intake. do i need to seperate the rail from injectors or do the injectors come out still attatched to the rail??

Injectors can come out with the rail. I usually spray WD-40 in the injector bungs before trying to wiggle the rail back and forth. You'll just have to work it out slowly.

I'm at the same part with my car right now, is it easier to pull the rails or to take the lines off? i got a 5/16 and a 3/8 disconnect but i don't really know how to use them. I think taking the rails out would give more access to the manifold bolts though. Do they just pop out or do you need to replace some seals or anything?

When you remove the rails/injectors from the manifold, I would recommend replacing the injector o-rings. If they haven't been removed in awhile, the injector orings can "flat spot" making them unusable. They're cheap to replace and a good idea.

I always remove my manifold with the fuel rails/injectors still attached.

I believe if you get the Felpro intake KIT you get all the gaskets from the intake to head gaskets to the TB and EGR the silicon and the injector o-rings.

If you look inside the connection of the fuel line there are little clips that keep the line from being pulled out. the tool pushes them outward so the line can be pulled.

Are you talking about the hard plastic piece that goes to the FPR? Theres like a rubber hose over a harder plastic hose.

He's talking about the two fuel lines (feed and return).

Doesn't it make it a bit of a pain to reach certain manifold bolts?

Do you mean this:

You need this:

A/C/Fuel disconnect tool. It can be bought at any parts store. The next to the smallest size (can't remember what it is) will work to disconnect both lines.

I don't recall having a problem. Then again I used a wobble extension in some places. I suppose it's more of a personal preference really.
