Default Starting Issue - 6secs of cranking every time, wtf(vid inside)

So my friends 94 z28 has been nothing but problems since he got it.

First the fuel pump went out and he was close to my house so it sat at my house for a few weeks.

Finally put in his new fuel pump.
Then it just plain wouldn't start and makes this sound almost as if it has no compression it seems when its cranking, or like its not getting fuel or spark but it is.

Then it exploded the fuel line. Fixed that.

Now it's starting all the time, but every time it has that weird cranking for at least 6 seconds.. I don't know what could be wrong.

It fires up EVERY time after 6 seconds of cranking.. Heres the video

Sounds like something is wrong with the starter. Have you had the starter out to see if any of the teeth are broken or metal shavings?

Exploded fuel line? Maybe check to see if one of the lines is bent or clogged or something. Did it explode between the pump and the filter? If so, replace the filter. The starter sounds like it is cranking the motor over very fast.

Thats a starter issue all the way. Watch the alt as it spins you can see that initially it spins fast and then as soon as the clicking starts you see it slow way down. When you went inside and tried to start it you can also see the tach go up to 300 to 500 and slow back down to 100 rpms. For some reason the solenoid is clicking back and forth from engaged to disengaged. You may need to check the batt cables to make sure it is getting good power.

Sounds like the starter pinion gear is hitting the flywheel dust/inspection cover.

When i read the post my first thought was that the fuel system was loosing its prime, but after hearing the starter from the video i would say that there is something wrong with the that starter for sure!

Okay so I'm bumping this as finally a few weeks ago when he went out to start it, it just made a horrid screeching/whirring noise, no clicking or starting or anything. Just the loud screeching.

Found the starter in pieces.

Brand new starter and it's starting again, but it's still starting the same way, with that chattering sound for 6 seconds every single time then it fires right up.

I'm worried whatever is happening is just going to kill the new starter right away again.
What else could be wrong? This car is friggen cursed I swear!!
