Hooker catback
Does anyone have any sound clips of a stock motor car with a hooker catback? I am more specifically looking for a sound clip of a car with longtubes and an ORY with this catback. I have done some searches, but have not found any good clips. Also, how does this compare to other catbacks as far as performance is concerned? Do they at least flow better than flowmaster? Thanks in advance!

Here's a few vids. It's not a LT1 but it won't sound much different. Turn it up!

It's one of the best-flowing catbacks out there. It's not loud and obnoxious like many people like, it is very low and mean-sounding. It has no resonance at highway speeds, it purrs at idle, and roars when you put your foot in it. I found a site that listed different mufflers and their flow rates. I have posted links to it before either on this site or another..I will see if I can find it again. Definitely flows better than flowmaster. The Hooker Aerochamber muffler (which is used in the Hooker catback system) was one of the best flowing, and another Hooker muffler (Maxflo or something like that) was even better. The Hooker catback is one mod to my car that I would do again without even thinking about changing to another product. And it sounds better on the LT1 than the LS1.
Edit: I just listened to the clips above. It definitely sounds deeper on the LT1.

hooker catback sounds awesome on anything from a full exhaust LG4 to an Lt1, or LS1. wish i had one. I was under the impression I did when i bought the car, but it turned out to be a flowmaster. YUM! at least I do have the hooker tips! lol.

Here's mine..the motor isn't stock and I have shorties right now. I agree it sounds pretty good at idle and wot but the bad part is the mufflers doesn't last very long. I brought that catback at the beginning of the year and the muffler started making a metallic sound so I brought another muffler...then months later it too made that same sound. I wouldn't buy another hooker catback again!

I just have the hooker muffler and a factory y pip with no cat and I love the sound, except around 26-2900rpms deceling it sounds like something is rattling in the muffler. I just bought the muffler only because I'm going to eventually do true duals with powersticks and LT's, I just wanted some sound to my exhaust. It is mellow and really not loud until after 2000 rpms, then it gets loud and throaty, cuseing in 6th going down the highway I don't hear it. I would recommend it, it sounds a lot better than a similar setup in the slowmaster IMO.

Wow, I didn't expect for this thread to have this much activity. lol Thanks guys. My car is stock besides headers and ORY, so that is why I wanted soundclips of that setup. (lol Duh)
Has anyone else had this same problem?
I was thinking... Now I'll be able to run these stickers. Except for the fact that it says "headers" on it. lol

I agree with all as I love the sound of my hooker full exhaust and really wanted to replace it but after researching more it seems more people have them going to **** .Mine has a rattle at idle and it goes away when you step on it. However who wants a rattle at a stop light?
