GM 4.11 gears are they tough for a daily driver
Would GM 4.11 gears on a 10bolt be ok for daily driving.its a bolt on 95 Z28 M6 street tires.
Ill be buying the gears from jaws along with the master kit assembly
The only reason is BC my car was hit by a drunk driver I had to swap my rear end. To a 97 and its posi also but has 3.23s I believe .feels really weak compared to my 3.42s at take off

I think it depeds on what speed you ride daily, because i got a 3.9 and do 60mph in 5th gear @ around 2000 rpm, that mean if you have a 4.11 and you thinking about fuel economy i think you are going to be running in 5th of even 6. just use an online calculator to see at what rpm you will be cruising (depending in what gear). Mayne some one with a 4.11 can give you more info.

Yeah this is true but it really depends on power levels. When I was around 300 RWHP and with 4.10s, I could ease it out in 1st and the tires would not really bust loose.
Now I have near 400RWHP and if I ease out in 1st and nail it, the tires easily bust loose and then you have to modulate the gas. Because of this, I am considering going back to 3.90's.
Tires and how much traction they have makes a difference too.

Well I only considered 4.11 BC I didn't see the 4.10s. . Ill have a look again. I'm just so sick and tired of the 3.23s I feel like I lost a lot of torque compared to the 3.42s for some reason.
I read similar threads like mine how you guys suggest doing a rear end swap but holy cow 12bolts are expensive.

I actually had 3.90's when i got my 9 inch and the wheel spin in 1st was noticably less but still a problem. I burned of those gears and put 4.10's in to get a harder launch on stickies. On the street, the 3.90's were better for my setup.
I would love to know how 3.73's would do.

I have 3.73's and I feel they are the best gears for a dd car.
You still have a useable 1st gear, and I was getting 29 mpg on the highway, that is before my gas gauge broke and now I can only gestimate. Plus I bet that you would maybe go 1 tenth to maybe 2 tenths a second faster going from 3.73 to 4.10. So the benefits of having 3.73's outweigh the drawbacks of 4.10's to me at least.

I daily drove when I had 4:10s in the old 10 bolt and it was great most of the year. I had a second vehicle for bad weather/winter though. Driving an m6 w/4:10s in a PA winter makes for some serious white knuckle driving, lol
