Default How to tell a difference between ls7 and caddy racing lifters?

Ok I'm a complete moron. A couple years back I bought some lifters. I cant remember if they were the ls7 or caddy racing lifters. Is there a way to tell by looking at the lifter itself?

Don't think there is a difference with the two. The oil hole is in a better spot than the LS and LT lifters.

I just found out what I have through an old email receipt. Yes they are different. Correct me if Im wrong gregrob, but the caddie ones have lighter internals and can rev to 8000rpms. But I also heard they are able to rev so high only because the cadillac using these has lightweight valves and some other stuff.

Caddy lifters are 10grams heavier then LS7 lifters, but that doesn't matter

weight on that side of the rocker arm, doesn't affect valvetrain.

however, the few lifters i've heard go bad lately have been GM racing lifters.

Also they are good to 8500rpm, but I have seen many ls7 lifters go to 8500 rpms as well

My bad robquikz28. Also now I remember somebody saying that as well. Maybe it was one of your post. Anyhow thanks for clearing up my mistake.
