Default fuel pressure need help!!!

hey guys, gota stock 95 lt1 formula. im having problems with the car feeling at a loss of power and some stumbling and a little bit of a rougher idle. i put a fuel pressure guage on the shrader valve and im only getting 34 psi when key is on with the ignition off. and the same with the car running. and about 39 to 40 psi if i remove the vacum from the fuel pressure regulator. does this sound like my fuel pump could be going bad?

sounds like the pump is getting weak, with the vacuum off it should be ~48psi and ~40 with the car running

they run on different pressure, an ls1 pump with the vacuum line off will push about 58-60psi, not sure if it would actually bolt in or not, but i wouldn't recommend trying it

Could be the fuel pump, sure. Could also be a stuck/bad fuel pressure regulator or a leaking injector. Pull up the fuel rail and prime the fuel system. If any injector leaks there's your issue.

Ugh...There's a way to determine if it's the pump or the regulator but I forgot how to do it-I'll look it up after work...

yeah you can leave everything connected. just take the four bolts on the rail off and lift it up so you can see the bottom of the injectors

nope, especially if you have some o-ring lube! the hardest part if anything will be getting them out. just replaced the fpr on an lt1 the other day and the bolt was stripped so i had to take the rail off, took forever to get the damn o-rings on the injectors to budge!

however when i pulled mine to swap injectors it came out fairly easy with ~135k miles on it.. so maybe it's one of those hit or miss things?
