I hear if your not over 500hp that it is not worth the cash. I did go out and do some mild port and polish work on my own intake though; places like this can do yours for you http://elliottsportworks.com/?page_id=51.

This is one aftermarket unit offered from edelbrock. But for the price you might wana look into Elliotportworks as mentioned above. But if you have the cash the edelbrock one is very nice and has slightly longer runners that adds in performance when matched with correct parts.

The Edelbrock intake manifold has been proven to actually HURT performance and would be an awful investment.

Fact of the matter is unless you're in the need for 7,000+ RPM and/or converting to a single plane (or similar), the stock manifold as cast is the cat's ***.

Nothing wrong with a modified stock intake

If you do any type of port work to your heads, I would get the intake ported to match. If you want a ported intake just to say you have one, save your money until you do some head work. If you are just going to open it up for a 58mm tb you can do that porting yourself pretty easily.

he asked what kinda intakes are out there, so i posted one, and i also mentioned porting the stock one. I has seen an edelbrock perform on the dyno and it does add hp just not very much for the 400 price tag. Ported stocker is the way to go
