Unhappy Another sell it or keep it thread

I'm looking into going to college out of state, and I'm a little worried about taking my car with me. I don't want some drunk college kids rubbing up against it, or run the risk of theft. As for leaving it at home, it can be an option, but I would rather not be paying insurance and tags on something I'm not driving. Should I sell the car, or just keep it and take it with me?

yeah i would store it, if you have a good friend or relative with a non-used garage, offer to throw them some cash per month to keep it locked up and safe.

This. Just cancel the insurance and dont put a tag on it until you get back. Problem solved

By the looks of your sig, you've probably built the motor and spent a good chunk of money on it

If you just sell it due to college you will about it later

keep it.

Its alot harder to get back into a car with as much power as yours then you think! having a 383 camaro at home in your garage is alot better then not having one at home in your garage! Youll regret it. Keep it till your out of college and see if you even want another car, you might just want to drop more money into the old lt1.

hate to be mr bad news, but college isnt for everyone, sure as **** wasnt for me, if i sold my car and it went the way it went, id be MAD.

Since mine is currently off the road so to speak what my wife did was not cancle the coverage but have them insure it as non driving so that if something happens like it gets stolen or a an act of god (I could only be so lucky) destroys it, it is still covered and I get compensated for it. It's not very much at all but then again I'm no where close to my 20's anymore.

I sold my LS6 (454 BBC) Powered Nova 30 years ago when I was in school and I still sometimes miss it. I also had the option of storing or selling it. If you like your car and you would have a hard time replacing it I would suggest you find a way to keep it.

Plus, you will not get back the $ you have in it. Try it for a year and see how you feel after that. I agree that you should not sell your car until you have to.

<-hahahaha good thinking, in all reality, do I just give the insurance company a call and tell them I'm not driving the car for a while? I COULD put up with paying for tags, just because it's only seventy something a year, and I don't want to lose my personalized tag ....

sounds like a nice car. leave it at home, the time will go by anyway, be patient. you've got more in mods than you can probably sell that car for whole. worth saving and enjoying!

Looks like the camaro is going to sit in the garage for a while. The car will stay at my parents garage, so dad can help me out by keepin it clean, starting it, oil change, etc. Well, looks like it's time to start planning future mods....turbo? or spray? haha
