low heat after coolant drain, now what?
title says it all. I being new to the lt1 family did forget to open the bleeder valves though so there is/was air in it. While running i opened them several times to let air out, still low heat at best. It's currently sitting cooling down. My question is what is the next step?
open valves, top off, start engine and wait for either air or coolant from the valves? or keep them shut until the engine warms up?
Also does the temp gauge read from the heads? Do i need to worry about over heating?

Toped off cold engine this morning. Ran and bleed again. No air. Still no heat? Heater core problem? Maybe thermo is stuck ? Temp gauge raise at idle lowers alot when driving.

Did you have the heat on high when you drove? How many times did you try this?
I'd be willing to be that 99% of people with heating problems in these cars aren't from clogged cores, but air in the system.
In that sense, I'd bet that you still have air in your system that you need to purge.

Having the heat on or off won't affect coolant flow through the core. Coolant is ALWAYS flowing through it. When you turn the heat on all you do is turn on the blower.
Your higher temps at idle and lower temps while driving is completely normal.
Still might be a clogged core and/or flow reduction orifice in the core supply line.

Is that all I can do is keep opening the bleeders when the engine is hot and see if that helps?
Also the temp gauge difference is high. Like when I had a stuck thermo before. But this one was just replaced :/

BLEEDER QUESTIONNNNN. If i hear a hissing or popping sound from the bleeders there is still air coming out, right? A lot of coolant comes out and i'm going through paper towels but i guess this is still air
