Default I'm torn between cat-backs

From anyone who has actually owned either of these, which would you say? Magnaflow vs flowmaster? Now everyone relax, not even thinking of putting flowmaster on my car but i have had the experience of having one before None with magnaflow. So is magnaflow a step up over flowmaster, or should i be looking else where? I'm on a budget and looking for a good cat-back to go with my LT's & catted Y. If money wasn't an issue i'd go back to the Borla exhaust.

True duals man! I wish I would have done it a long time ago.

Order the universal x pipe from summit and have a shop weld it up

This has been on my mind too. What mufflers would you run to have a nice tone? Not necessarily the loudest. Can i have the shop still run them out the rear too, not just dumped at the axle?

I've had a hooker catback, true duals, and 2otl on my car. The 2otl is by far my favorite.

Just dump them dude. It's a camaro! I used to be all picky about having a nice exhaust when I had my Borla, but honestly true duals is the only way to go.

You can certainly run them out the back but you're going to have to spend some time / coin to do it. You will need to relocate your stock panhard rod, or get a high clearance one. BMR makes it I think.

I use Borla Pro XS Mufflers. I researched for weeks before I bought mufflers and they are the best balance of sound, and performance on the market I truly believe. The Borla XR-1s are nice, but louder with no real performance gain.

Ha thanks man. This is looking like the cheaper route too! Are you running cats or straight through? Reason I ask is i don't want an annoying tone and I gota play the inspextion game. Here they just plug it in for OBDII testing. Last time not even a visual for cats. But I'd have a year before i find out if i'f fail or not for not having cats, or exhaust tips? Are dumps considered illegal in any technical way

Greg, this the right product/number to go with?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BOR-40353/

can't figure out the difference between that one and this..

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BOR-40359/

err think i just did, offset or centered outlet. Would either work?

Either should work, I went with the centered outlet since I plan on dumping them.

I love my Hooker Cat-back. Plus I like that I can unbolt my muffler and tailpipes at the 3 bolt flange it has in case I need to service my fuel pump. (Trap door mod would negate this.)

I'm betting given your location that you can't get away with true duals. IF you can, they will make the most power, and can be done the cheapest if you dump them.

I have had a Flowmaster, SLP LM and a Borla. The Loud mouth was my favorite when the car was just bolt ons with the stock cat, sounded really good. I never had it with Long tubes but I imagine it would have been really loud. The Flowmaster sounded decent, I always wanted a Borla so thats why I have it. I have seen magnaflows on a V6 Fcar, seemed like a nice exhaust system.
