Default Helpful mods

Okay people! I have a 95 Formula LT1 and it currently has no mods that I know of and on the dyno its pushing 338rwhp and I was wondering what I could do to make my firebird get more power. I was thinking LT4 hot cam kit along with LT4 manifold and I want a WS6 hood. Anybody know what else I cam put on it. And I want to avoid forced induction for a while.

Well a lot of people will tell you that the LT4 Hot cam kit is junk, go custom ect. No one thinks of the money that someone might be limited to. The LT4 Hot Cam and Roller Rockers are crane. For the price of the kit, Its really a good deal, Cam, Springs & 1.6 RR. The springs aren't the greatest but for that setup, its ok. I had bolt ons, small stall and the Hot Cam Kit and ran in the 12.5 -12.6 all day long. Great drive ability and a noticeable lope. Oh and 338 RWHP Bone Stock? Wow..

That's what I was thinking. I doubt my stock LS1 makes 338 wheel. OP just look around on here. Lots of good info when you get passed the constant bickering that goes on here. I say start with a nice exhaust set up.

LT4 hotcam stuff is a waste of money. Not that it isn't decent, but there are many better choices out there for the money.

My word of advice is to make a call to Lloyd or advanced induction. It will cost a little bit but i was taught to do it the right way the first time and you wont have to do it again.

start with exhaust. Just the upgrade in sound is worth it.

Please don't waste money on the LT4 intake manifold.
Start with basics, CAI, catback, headers, tune, some suspension refreshing and it will feel like a whole new car.

Exactly. You didn't really state your goals for the car. Is it a DD or you looking to put out 400+ power? Do the cai plus replacement elbow! full exhaust, tune and from there go with cam and intake upgrades. I was checking out the lt4 hot cam too and what i've found out is you can do that cam, get your heads and intake ported or find alternatives to go with it for a better price than the full kit, so don't do that.

190 rwhp is typically what we would see on stock LT1 cars on the Mustang Chassis Dyno back at the old shop. Hooker headers have always fit well on these engines for us, as well as the Hooker Y Pipe and Hooker cat back. The Hypertech Programmer is good for 9 to 10 rwhp, but don't waste your money on one if you go for ported heads and a camshaft. Bob

I ran the Hot Cam kit for a year, it wasn't bad for the money but I craved more than it could dish out. I'm finally in the mid to upper 11's with the CC XFI 280 and guess what...still crave more. But it's fun making the car a little faster each year. Don't be afraid to buy good used parts form good people, can save a ton.

I would.say.spray it. Best bang for.buck. skip all the 5-10hp gains and go right to 100 hp. Wet kit.
