Default corrosion: harness n opti

The car was throwing a couple codes n notice it rare occasions the car wouldn't start. If it did after a minute of sitting it would idle kinda funny. Pull of the opti harness and see corrosion . Then after that I seen that the inlet where the harness connects to the opti had corrosion as well. Here some pics...

Very common issue. At the least i would buy a new cap and rotor kit and seal the opti up nice and tight with silicone and put some dielectric grease on the connector and lightly inside the cap to prevent corossion happening again.

You sure you didn't find that opti near the beach? Looks like it's been sitting in saltwater for a while.....j/k but that sucks man. Can't believe it still ran like that.

Looks like coolant. Check your water pump/hoses for leaks. BTW, thats EXACTLY what my harness looked like. I got a new one from CMS, quality piece.

You also might want to check the vent line when you put it back together. I went through 2 opti"s with the harness doing the same thing. My vent line was cracked where it connects to the intake manifold.

Efi connections has a really nice replacement harness, it like $28 shipped. I got one when I replaced my opti recently, mine wasn't bad but I figured it was cheap insurance.
